Heart & Hands is owned and managed by husband and wife team, Tom and Susan Higgins. We are committed to producing cool-climate wines which express the terroir of the Finger Lakes. We grow and craft wine from Pinot Noir, Aligoté, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Auxerrois, Petit Arvine, and Lagrein from which we create still and sparkling wines. We are a boutique winery, producing around 2,000 cases per year, which allows for an intense focus on quality.
Tom and Susan collaborate closely on general management of the winery. Tom manages the vineyard and cellar activities, while Susan manages the tasting room, external sales and finance activities. Tom and Susan are joined in the cellar and tasting room by a talented team of professionals with diverse backgrounds and interests – but all with a shared passion for wine.

Tom’s childhood years in the beautiful Finger Lakes inspired his dream of starting a winery and becoming a winemaker. After college and a stint in the tech industry, he decided it was time to return to his roots and pursue his passion.

Great wines start with a great business plan. Armed with a MBA and years of management consulting experience, Susan’s sharp decision making skills set Heart & Hands on a path for success.

Every winery needs some extra energy and excitement. Winery dog Raven is in perpetual motion from the moment she wakes each day and is always up for an adventure from dawn to dusk.
